This workshop is designed to help you understand the market landscape for your healthcare product or intervention. We will also showcase the upcoming Biomedical Catalyst Accelerator delivered by the Pioneer Group in association with Innovate UK.
Market Awareness - Many translators underappreciate the importance of understanding customers, the competitive landscape and adoption which can cause barriers to securing further support. Dr Adam Hardy, Accelerator Programme Manager at Pioneer Group, will share his expertise on the concept of market awareness and will highlight some of the steps early-stage founders can take to translate your research into healthcare solutions. Adam will also share some general principles for how to best present your project to external stakeholders.
Upcoming Biomedical Catalyst Accelerators - Managing Chronic Conditions and others - Adam will introduce an upcoming accelerator programme, the types of supports available and details on how to apply (deadline 10th October). Pioneer Group are interested in supporting products and interventions that target unmet needs in disease prevention or proactive management of a single condition or multiple long-term conditions. The solution could be applied within a broad range of conditions and support at any disease stage: disease prevention, early detection and diagnosis, proactive management of chronic condition, and supportive and long term care.

Speaker Biography
Adam Hardy is the Accelerator Programme Manager at Pioneer Group. Pioneer Group supports life science founders by way of this venture development, investment and lab/office infrastructure across the UK and Ireland. The team has supported over 200 companies in raising over £500m in funding to date and developed strategic partnerships with universities, public funding agencies, and large corporates.Prior to joining Pioneer Group, Adam completed the prestigious BioInnovate fellowship at the University of Galway, investigating unmet needs in urology and gynaecology. Adam's venture building activity is also supported by his earlier career as a paediatric surgeon and an Executive MBA from Smurfit Business School.
