Join ONE Life Sciences for an insightful session hosted by the ONE Life Sciences Network, where we’ll be joined by Julie Brady, Director of Business Development at LifeArc.

LifeArc is a UK-based medical research charity transforming early-stage science into life-changing diagnostics, drugs, and treatments. With facilities in London, Stevenage, and Edinburgh, LifeArc partners with charities, universities, and industry to accelerate innovation through scientific expertise, partnership and funding.

Their focus spans rare diseases, neurodegenerative conditions, chronic respiratory infections, childhood cancers, and global health challenges like antimicrobial resistance—bridging the gap between research and real-world impact.

Julie will share how LifeArc approaches drug and diagnostic development, highlighting how they tackle complex challenges, collaborate with partners, and transform promising research into solutions, particularly in fields often neglected due to cost, risk, or complexity.

Julie brings a wealth of knowledge, with more than 20 years experience in BD and commercialisation. At LifeArc, Julie initially focused on Global Health – Infection before expanding her remit to include rare diseases and resistant infections. Prior to joining LifeArc Julie was Head of Business Development at the Drug Discovery Unit, University of Dundee, where she spent eight years building collaborative partnerships with BioPharma, SMEs, and academic groups. Her career began in Aberdeen with a PhD from the Rowett Research Institute, followed by a decade at Scottish Enterprise as Life Sciences Manager, supporting global pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies and advising Scottish-based firms on investment, technology development, and commercialisation.

This event will explore:

  • LifeArc’s approach to drug and diagnostic development
  • Tackling complex challenges in translational science
  • Partnerships and collaboration in research and development
  • Opportunities for researchers and organisations to engage with LifeArc
