'Researching and driving Creative-Digital-IT fusion'
Professor Jonathan Sapsed's breakfast lecture will be followed by a three-hour intensive masterclass building upon the points made in the lecture.
This interactive session will explain his experience of leading the Brighton Fuse research projects mapping the creative economy, as well as more practical work with companies developing new digital products and business models.
Through case studies like video games and theatre in both Brighton and Newcastle he will relate the impact of the fusion research agenda and work with you to look for connections to the Northern Ireland context.
Professor Sapsed will facilitate group discussions and Q&As throughout the session to help ensure that you leave with tools to help better manage innovation in your business.

About the Speaker
Jonathan Sapsed - Newcastle University Business School
Jonathan Sapsed is Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Newcastle University Business School, where he researches and lectures on innovation management and policy. He was Principal Investigator of the Brighton Fuse projects (www.brightonfuse.com), a £1.2m initiative from the Arts and Humanities Research Council to map, measure and enhance a significant digital creative cluster. Jonathan has researched creativity and innovation in digital firms in Silicon Valley in the US, UK video games developers, as well as companies such as Disney, Sun Microsystems, Ericsson, and QinetiQ. His work is published in journals such as Organization Studies and Research Policy. He is co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Creative Industries and has served on editorial boards of Journal of Management, Technovation and International Journal of Innovation Management. He also a published comics writer and enjoys drawing on his iPad.
