Description

What is 'Innovation of Justice'?

The project aims to raise awareness of the variety of forms a miscarriage of justice can happen. The campaign seeks to break the barriers between those fighting for victims of miscarriages of justice and those who can change or influence the law. Our last conference in Manchester was a huge hit, presenting multiple stories of those who have suffered because of a miscarriage of justice. The topics we aim to cover include: the ageing legal profession, the lack of legal aid funding, pre and post conviction disclosure, problems with the offence of joint enterprise, false allegations and more. Our end goal, is to create a 'round table' platform, that allows those fighting these issues to discuss proposals and necessary changes to the Criminal Justice System with the Crown Prosecution Service, Police, Justice Committee and Ministry of Justice Policy Holders. This will create crucial talks that prevent unnecessary suffering when innocents come into contact with the Criminal Justice System, in turn, making justice more accessible for everyone.

The Conferences:

A list of speakers for the conferences are provided below, each with a personal investment in campaigning for the required transformation of the Criminal Justic System. Food and drink will be provided during the break, with a wine reception to follow at the end. Tickets can be bought up until 24 hours before the event date, providing the event does not sell out first. During the breaks, lunch breaks and at the end of conferences, workshops will be provided to buy books, personally meet some of the speakers and ask for advice. However, there may be some questions or information that legally some individuals may not be able to answer, though we will attempt to provide the relevant contacts that may be required to discuss such matters. We hope, that the conferences give attendees something that is both interactive and personally relevant, whilst providing support for families who have similarly suffered due to a miscarriage of justice.

So come, enjoy, laugh and maybe even cry, but know that we as a team will aim to create a day that is filled with hope that there are better times ahead, and how we, as a collective, can become the voice for justice.
