Each of these projects have been chosen for their potential to help solve specific decommissioning challenges and this is an opportunity to meet the people behind each, interrogate their technology and assess their suitability for meeting your requirements.

The two projects being presented are:

Cryoroc : Immobilisation of Radionuclides in Ceramics using Freeze Casting

Immobilising ILW by reacting with ceramics to form a consolidated product with the benefits of:

• Significant volume reduction
• Higher waste incorporation rates
• Good resistance to solubility in water
• Can be cast into any shape for convenient storage

Potential applications: disposal route for spent SIXEP clino, B29/B30 sludges

Interaction Technologies : Text Searchable Video

An interactive service with text search capability that enables users to quickly access specific information within videos using keywords and phrases. Benefits for Sellafield teams include:

• Time saving - quick and easy solution to access information within potentially lengthy videos
• A system designed to support rich interaction
• Key information can be easily shared and feedback sought
• Video authors can set 'interaction points' where the viewer is prompted to engage with other people or data materials

Potential applications: across the Sellafield site, with speed of use and collaboration enabling knowledge-rich decision making.
