Innovative Approaches to Postrgraduate Clinical Education

Professor Paula Leslie has a highly acclaimed reputation for innovative practice in post-qualification clinical education. She has a deep commitment to promoting research-informed clinical practice, and in mentoring experienced practitioners to gain new skills in applied clinical research, for the purpose of enhancing the quality of clinical decision-making and best practice dissemination in healthcare. Paula led the development of a new Clinical MSc route at University of Newcastle, prior to being invited to launch a Clinical Science Doctorate at University of Pittsburgh.
Paula’s lecture will illustrate her dynamic approach to Research-informed-Teaching, and her success in building skills and confidence through her clinical education model. This will draw together a wide range of UCLan academics with shared interests in postgraduate education and pedagogic research.
This lecture will be open to all staff across UCLan Schools as well as to postgraduate students and all UCLan’s local clinical education partners, thus enhancing the research environment.
