Inox Network Breakfast Meeting
Thu 27 April 2017, 07:00 – 09:00 BST
Throughout 2017 we are working to raise £2 million to establish a ground-breaking MRI-PET facility. MRI-PET is the most advanced imaging technology to date. It will transform our understanding of serious conditions like cancer, dementia, heart and lung diseases, MND, Parkinson's and stroke and the way we treat them in the future. This will be the first facility of its kind in Yorkshire and a vital investment in the heath of people in this region, across the UK and beyond.
An MRI scan produces comprehensive information of the organs, tissues and structures of the body. PET imaging measures how well the body is functioning. MRI-PET combines these powerful tools in a single scan to provide the most detailed pictures of the inside of the body available. With this knowledge we will be able to answer major questions about disease and identify faster and better ways to detect, treat and prevent ill health.
The entire University is behind this campaign and with your help we can make this life-changing project possible. Our colleagues from the universities Alumni department will be discussing “The Big Walk 2017” which will raise £100,000 towards the £2 million target. Participants – staff, alumni, students and friends of the University – will walk as far as they can along a circular 50-mile route in 24 hours, from 7am on Friday 30 June to 7am on Saturday 1 July 2017. We hope you’ll get involved!!
Additionally we will be providing a full picture of the facilities available at the University of Sheffield for accommodation (Halifax Hall Hotel, Live Jonas – opening on August 1st, Endcliffe Hurst – opening in October and the Student accommodation apartments), meetings, dining & networking etc. in addition to our 22 café’s & bars, Delivered Hospitality & all our future development plans.
We have a fantastically varied & diverse portfolio of facilities that we thought you should be fully aware of so our sales & event teams will be available to discuss how we can ensure you get the very best out of University of Sheffield facilities.
