About the Commission:
Providing a solutions-based approach to the issues facing the LGBT+ community, the LGBT+ Commission will publish an assessment of the State of the Nation for LGBT+ people across the UK in 2022. With an innovative research design, the commission will see representatives of local and regional government as well as civil society groups submit scalable examples of best practice for supporting the LGBT+ community. The report will be submitted to Ministers and the Government Equalities Office with case studies, workable policy recommendations, and an implementation plan to make change happen. In collaboration with the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT+ Rights, leaders in civil society, business, and local/regional government, the Commission will bring together data, insights, and understanding on key issues, including:
1. Healthcare, mental health, fertility, and sexual health
2. Homelessness and housing
3. Hate crime and domestic violence
4. Employment and employability
