Event description
Come along to our new CLPL workshop to discover how the fully-funded Inscool project can connect you with a learning community across Europe

About this Event

Is your primary school thinking about starting or currently working towards the Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA)? Are you interested in free workshops for your pupils delivered by our expert partner organisations?

Come along to our new CLPL workshop to discover how the fully-funded Inscool project can connect you with a learning community across Europe and contribute to the achievement of your school's RRSA.

Please note this workshop is for East Lothian Primary teachers only. All other local authorities can sign up for a workshop with this Eventbrite link.

How does Inscool link with RRSA?

Co-designed with our European partners, this project aims to support teachers in the 2019 / 20 academic calendar to work towards your Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA). The teacher workshops, activities for the classroom and pupil workshops will directly support your school as you work towards your Award by providing a timeline of ideas and activities that you can evidence to help kick you off on your RRSA journey and achieve your Bronze Award or take your learning deeper to contribute to the achievement of your Silver or Gold Award.

Inscool and RRSA are intrinsically linked through shared principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination, and participation. Scotdec has a long and well-respected relationship with UNICEF and local RRSA Assesors and Co-ordinators.

We will provide an action-based timeline equipped with ideas and resources to support:

  • Participation and raising pupil voice
  • Learning for Sustainability experiences
  • Pupil equity and well-being

The project includes opportunites to:

  • Use a new resource with a step-by-step guide for schools to adapt and use in their own context
  • Travel to Brussels, celebrating your school and putting pupil voice centre stage in Europe
  • Free pupil workshops, tailored to your priorities and facilitated by expert Inscool partners - a great opportunity to build long-term relationships with community-based partners here in Scotland
  • Gain professional recognition in a related area. Scotdec staff are experienced in mentoring you through this process if you choose to do so

Starting your Inscool journey

The first step is coming along to this workshop where you'll meet up with a group of your peers. If you would like to discuss anything further, please email or call our Global Education Adviser Kate Allen.
