"In January 2015 I lost my mate TED....my little soldier....., after a short battle with a brain tumour. Thank you to all of the staff at PDSA Thamesmead and Croydon, who gave their care to ensure that he didn't suffer unduly.
I was at a loss without him, but hope that by telling you his short story, you will understand how he helped to change my life.
Ted was a bundle of energy when I adopted him as a puppy. I was not long out of hospital with mental health issues, and his personality and presence impacted instantly on my life. He gave me purpose and affection, he bossed me from day one - good because I needed direction!
He only reached the age of 5, but boy did he know how to live. A regular character in Crystal Palace Park, many knew him, and, through him, I knew many. To those who have never enjoyed the pleasure of having a dog in your life, let me tell you, a dog means you are never without friends"
David set up a Just Giving page to help him cope with the loss of his beloved Ted and to raise vital funds to enable PDSA, who helped nurse Ted through his illness, help other dogs like him at their time of need.
Over the last year David has built up a strong relationship with PDSA attending our support events as an ambassador and sharing with us his second passion (behind his dogs!) photography.
David has as intensely keen eye for capturing those moments between a person and their dog that encapsulates the affection that exists between them in a fresh and often quirky way!
This exhibition lets us share with you those moments - we hope you love them as much as we do.
