Event description

Description

A mixture of teaching, group work and individual writing time will help you to develop intriguing and authentic characters in your fiction using psychological theory. The workshop is suitable for all levels of writer as the focus is a deeper understanding of character. You will get the most out of the day if you have a specific character (or characters) to develop.

A warm, welcoming and reflective space will offer you the chance to develop a deeper understanding of what your characters would do and why.

Topics include:

Attachment theory and timelines

Human beliefs, assumptions, interpretations

Psychological defense mechanisms

What lies beneath - characters' healthy longings

Feel free to arrive from 10am for a 10:30 start. Refreshments and light lunch will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and food, too!

Please note: Half-price tickets are for those self-defined 'disadvantaged' writers who would not be able to attend at standard price. If reduced price tickets are sold out please contact me at stephaniehutton@hotmail.co.uk.
