This one day conference will provide the opportunity to explore the exciting world of forensic science, policing, psychology and jounalism, and will start with an opening address by Terry Waite CBE, former Special Envoy to the Archbishop of Canterbury, who became front page news when he was taken hostage in Beirut and held for nearly five years in solitary confinemnt before his realese in November 1991. After lunch, the crime scene is revealed on stage. White-suited forensic experts Tracy Alexander, Director of Forensic Services City of London Police, and Jo Millington, Senior Forensic Scientist ArroGen Forensics Limited, will search for clues. This bloodied room is the platform for learning how to compare fingerprints, DNA profiles and other forensic evidence. A small team of volunteers from the audience will don white suits and join the experts on stage to complete the examination.
The aim is to show what can be discovered from flecks of blood on a wall, how fibre evidence can lead us to the killer, and even how DNA evidence can place you in a room you've never entered.
This experince, led by renowned experts, will reveal the wonders of forensic science in Crime Scene detection, expose the limitations and dangers in tunnel vision investigations and contaminated evidence.
