Inside Tynwald - Special Weekend Tour
Event Information
Description
The Wedding Cake is well known from the outside - but how well do you know what happens inside?
If you've never had the chance to visit the Chambers of the world's oldest continuous parliament before, please join us 'Inside Tynwald' on Saturday 1st April 2017 for a one-off weekend tour marking the 150th anniversary of the first popular elections of the House of Keys.
The Seneschal will take you around the three Chambers and give an overview of the history of Tynwald from 979 to the current day. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
The tour starts at the main entrance to the Legislative Buildings on Finch Road, Douglas.
Please be aware that due to the age of the building, some parts of the tour are accessible only via stairs. Mobility impaired visitors can be accommodated via a different route but prior notice would be appreciated.
Please note that this free tour is also run every Monday at 2pm and every Friday at 10am (excluding public holidays). It is not usually necessary to book.
