Event description

Description

Join our District Architect on a tour of Sunnybrae Cottage and learn about the evolution of Scottish vernacular buildings in the Highlands.

Sunnybrae Cottage tells a story of how ordinary people lived over some 200 years: what their rooms were like, how they kept warm and how they made a living here. The cottage is one of the oldest buildings in Pitlochry, and has been subject to plenty of alterations and adaptations over the years. Its history reflects the prosperity and the development of this Highland town.

On this Insight Tour, join our District Architect to hear about the life and evolution of Sunnybrae Cottage through archaeological evidence and rare surviving features, such as the thatch roof and cruck beams.
