RNAscope™ is a proprietary RNA in situ hybridization (ISH) assay based on ACD patented signal amplification and background suppression technology which advances RNA biomarker analysis in tissues and cells. Unique to this technology, RNAscope™ delivers quantitative, sensitive and specific molecular detection of RNA species on a cell-by-cell basis with morphological context in a single assay. This enables researchers to visualize which genes are expressed, localize where they are expressed, and quantify the level of expression.

Speaker: Dr Simone Mayer - Hertie Institute

Dr. Simone Mayer leads the research group "Molecular Brain Development" at Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research investigating the development of the mammalian neocortex. The group study how neurotransmitters modulate mammalian cortical development, evolution and disease emergence. Dr Mayer has previously worked with RNAscope on human brain sections to validate single-cell RNA-sequencing findings during her time as a postdoc in San Francisco and will share some of her experience in this webinar.
