INSIGHTS: Book Launch and MNDA Fundraiser with Tracy Chevalier
Event Information
Description
Bestselling author Tracy Chevalier, author of Girl with a Pearl Earring, hosts a Question-Time-style discussion on writing and disability, to support Motor Neurone Disease Association- Dimbleby had better watch out!
In a small setting, with few tickets for sale, this is one of the few events where you can hear in-depth, well thought out takes from a best-selling author and be introduced to promising new authors with unique life experiences.
In April 2018, Claret Press launched a short story competition, calling for work that dealt with disability in an innovative way. We were not disappointed, receiving over 70 moving and original submissions. On December 1 st we will be coming together to present the awards for our competition and to celebrate the writings of every contributor. There will be wine, nibbles, music, and an opportunity to purchase copies of the book to support the MNDA. It’s also the Claret Press Christmas Party, so we’ll be breaking out the festive cheer! Tickets include a glass of wine or a soft drink. Doors open for drinks and mingling at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.
In a long-standing Claret Press tradition, net proceeds from the event will go to The MNDA.
