An Insite with Wendy Lobatto, facilitated by David Pinto.
Wendy is a remarkable person. She works in Tavistock, and is in charge of the branch that facilitates conslutation for social workers and the care of 500 children in Harringay. She sees her role as less a manager of people and more a manager of change. She is bringing to her role some innovative practice, bottom-up, collaborative, transparent, and sees herself taking steps towards a fundamental reorganisation of how social work is conducted.
INSITE is a process by which we are invited to listen to a colleague or partner talk about themselves, their work, what their vision is, and in the process reveal the motivation behind why they do what they do. It is a new technique developed by David Pinto that inverts the usual model of consultancy: David is not an expert of any body of knowledge, but merely helps the recipient express more of their vision, help create a constellation of reasoning, and reveal more of the person themselves. Insite deepens our understanding of ourselves while at the same time sharing our ideas about social change.
