Hosted at the Heritage Skills Academy workshop within the Bicester Motion site, the course has been designed exclusively for the Be Right Back community! Delivered by expert mentors Kyra Hill and Richard LeFevre, participants will gain practical, hands-on experience in maintaining and inspecting their classic cars safely and confidently.
The programme combines essential technical knowledge with real-world application, helping attendees feel empowered to care for their vehicles and prepared for the unexpected.
Course highlights include:
- How to stay safe at the roadside and what equipment you should always carry
- Battery charging, jump starting and bump starting techniques
- Tyre safety: pressure, tread, bulges, splits and perishing
- Safe jacking, wheel changing and tightening procedures
- Washer and wiper maintenance, including clearing jets and pumps
- Checking oil, coolant, brake fluid, gearbox and differential levels
- Identifying leaks and understanding their causes
- Steering and suspension inspections for wear, damage and deterioration
- Propshaft and final drive checks: what noises and vibrations could mean
- Wheel bearing inspections and refitting wheels safely
- Handbrake, footbrake and lighting operational checks
