2025 holds special significance as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. This milestone serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made and The National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) will provide a fitting backdrop to reflect on this historic occasion.
You are welcome to arrive for the Daily Act of Remembrance at 10:50 in the chapel (optional). The NMA is the only place in the country where the Act of Remembrance is observed daily.
The Land Train tour will start at 11:15 at the back of the Chapel and gives an insightful commentary of many of the memorials - including the history and significance of the Arboretum's many tributes.
A two-course lunch will follow in the Founders' Room.
Our guest speakers include:
Leadership consultant, Ian MacFarlane who has almost 10 years’ experience in Mental Health First Aid training and a particular background in the veteran and serving communities welfare sector. Ian will discuss how self care and resilience are key skills in the modern commercial world.
By the end of his talk you will:
- Understand what is mental health is and how we all have it.
- Resilience and recovery and what it may look like.
- How to maintain your own resilience.
Tony Sanders (and his motorbike) from the Midland Freewheelers provide a totally voluntary professional urgent motorcycle courier service to the NHS and Air Ambulance, saving lives by ensuring the timely delivery of essential medical supplies.
