Birth is a 'uniquely normal' process; supporting women, empowering them, and working to achieve a normal, physiological birth requires a deep understanding and inner-belief in the mothers ability to birth her baby.
Aimed at aspiring midwives, student midwives and birth workers, this workshop aims to explore and enhance your knowledge of physiological birth and encourages reflection and a deeper understanding on the impact of the support giver / midwife. The day will cover:
- What is 'physiological' birth?
- Gaining and inspiring confidence in yourself - and in the mother
- Facilitating, encouraging and supporting physiological birth and 3rd stage
- Hormones and the importance of the "Oxytocin" Factor
- Deep breathing and relaxation skills for use with women - and yourself
- Stories and Sharing
