INSPIRED FUTURES EVALUATION TOOLKIT LAUNCH
This hour long afternoon event (complete with tea and cake!) will launch the 'Inspired Futures' Evaluation Toolkit designed to help churches to manage the evaluation of church development projects. The launch is targeted at Inspired Futures churches in particular, but is open to all churches in the North East.
A basic requirement for any church repair or development project is that you evaluate how your project is progressing, check that against the targets you put in place at the outset, and find out what all those involved think of what you are doing. The toolkit is design to facilitate this important process (both to satisfy funders' requirements and to inform the effective development of your project).
The toolkit contains various downloadable resources covering advice, ideas and templates you can use to record your evaluation data. All this will help you evaluate your project in a straightforward and effective way, and demonstrate its success. Perhaps it seems obvious that the project is ‘done’ when the roof is repaired, the new toilet is installed or the exhibition is completed (the project outputs). However, the deeper benefits are actually about enabling and benefiting people through that work (the project outcomes). That is where effective evaluation is crucial to provide you with vital information you can use both to shape and improve the project as it goes along, and to underpin the long term value of the project to your church and community once the hard outputs are complete.
At the launch event Nicola Bell, the Inspired Futures evaluator, will introduce the toolkit and explain how to use it. There will be time for discussion about any questions or challenges you have with your own project. Following the launch, the toolkit will be made generally available via the Inspired North East website.
