Inspiring Community Action Towards Better Health and Wellbeing
Wed 14 June 2017, 09:30 – 12:30 BST
During this half day training session we will explore how community organisations and town/parish councils can work with their community on local initiatives aimed at improving health and wellbeing. We will be discussing how you can build effective community based networks that can foster collaborative working and drive action towards better health and wellbeing and how to identify your community's needs.
This training session is aimed at community and voluntary organisations, town or parish councils and any professionals and individuals interested in community health initiatives.
The trainer is Tom Barber, Spark's Community Partnerships Co-ordinator. Tom joined the organisation in June 2016 to lead on Spark’s Community Partnerships Project, having previously worked with a number of NHS and voluntary sector organisations including Cancer Research UK, Sue Ryder and Somerset CCG. Tom has been involved in managing and developing a wide range of health and wellbeing projects focusing on end of life care, cancer, epilepsy and mental health.
