Over recent years there has been much talk of new initiatives, best practice models and employer engagement – but are any of these gaining traction or actually making a difference? Are schools and colleges being given the tools that they need to make the step change and deliver outstanding careers in a co-ordinated and systemic way?
This year’s annual conference and exhibition will take delegates on a journey of discovery through a range of new and challenging perspectives on careers information, advice and guidance.
Heads of careers and careers advisers in schools do an outstanding job, often managing multiple roles within the school, but also balancing parental and school pressures to ensure individual students are given the guidance that is right for them to make the most informed decision about their future.
Employers have started to change the way they select candidates, moving away from purely academic credentials and increasingly focussing on non-cognitive abilities and skills. To what extent are schools and colleges reflecting, or preparing for, this in the support that they give their students?
It is heartening that industry, education and government are now taking on board the fact that careers education for the individual has an extremely important place in ensuring a flourishing economy and fulfilled society, so join this conference to be enthused and gain a greater understanding as to how things can be done differently to prepare young people for life and work, and ensure that careers and employability are at the heart of education.
Who should attend?
