GEORGINA TASKER-SIMM. “What is the ‘part’ of us that keeps sabotaging our greatest efforts to have a healthy body weight?”
Georgina Tasker-Simm from the Harmony Practice in Brighton is an integrative and transpersonal psychotherapist and has been in private practice since 2012. She primarily works with women who have long-standing issues with overeating and food/weight problems. She took the decision 6 months ago to speak out about her own recovery from historical eating disorders including anorexia and bulimia, binge eating, misuse of stimulants and over-exercising in an attempt to inspire other women to feel encouraged to discuss and talk about their own eating and food issues and lift the cultural veil of shame. As part of her own recovery process, and the approach she uses with her clients, Georgina advocates a daily practice of self-care which includes the use of meditation, prayer, being in nature, breath exercises, creativity and learning to live more slowly and fully. She also believes getting to know our Inner Child is a key part to the healing process and thriving rather than just surviving. Ultimately Georgina believes that no matter what has happened to us in childhood or in our lives, or how much is thrown at us, a perfect blueprint of our true nature exists within. She is living proof that with a deep commitment to heal ourselves, and using the vehicle of psychotherapy and spiritual practice we can reclaim who we were born to be – and play our part in the healing our world.

We invite audience members to come up onto the stage for 5 minutes and talk about something interesting, inspiring or motivating. No need to be shy we just ask that you don’t go on a political or religious rant and you don’t spend the whole time endorsing a project that you’re involved with, other than that, we’d LOVE to hear you! Just put your name down at the door and we’ll draw them out of a hat!

*****************************************

Doors open at 7.30pm and the speakers will start at 8pm. We’re upstairs in the Nightingale Room at The Grand Central pub next to Brighton Station (it’s a beautiful venue, don’t be put off by the football thing). PPS. We apologise for the price increase. The reason for this is that Eventbrite has increased their fee to us and to make the event more comfortable for you, we are selling fewer tickets. We hope you appreciate that the night is still GREAT value for the level of education and inspiration you get. Thank you for your understanding.

All reasonable measures will be taken to ensure the published line up do in fact present their said sessions at ITB. Upon publishing the line up all said individuals and organizations have been confirmed in writing. We don't however accept liability should any of the speakers or panelists become unavailable.
