Inspiring Women Changemakers: Achieving Community Harmony
Mon 19 December 2016, 18:00 – 20:15 GMT
Hi! I'm Anj Handa, Founder of Inspiring Women Changemakers. It's a dynamic movement for women leaders who want to create positive social change.
Professional women like us are used to challenges; and we know that the old approaches aren’t working. We’re tired of the reports that tell us the same old stories; of the decision-makers that don’t always act in our best interests; and of those that attempt to suppress our voices.
Through our combined networks, creative ideas and expertise – you can help to accelerate change. Collectively, we have great power to influence the issues that matter to us, so we're delighted to invite you to an event, supported by the Near Neighbours programme.
We've chosen a provocative title: Is community harmony better achieved by women? We would love to hear from you if you're passionate about making positive social impact - your experiences; your ideas; the good, the bad and the ugly.
Discussions from the event will be fed back to policy-makers through the Near Neighbours programme, so this is your opportunity to share the aproaches that you feel will make a difference.
The event will formally run from 18:15-20:15, but you are welcome to network in the licensed cafe bar area after the event to continue your conversations and we would be grateful if you'd arrive by latest 18:05 for registration.
What's for dinner?
Yummy pizza, sandwiches, olives and salad. We will be eating and chatting, so no awkward canapés!
Once you've confirmed your place, we will be in touch about your dietary requirements.
Is The Gallery accessible?
Yes, there is a disabled lift. It's also easy to get to (opposite Leeds bus station) and the Quarry House car park and on-street parking parks within a couple of mins walk.
