Inspiring Woodland Creation Webinar - Woods and Water
Date and time
Location
Online event
This webinar examines the current issues affecting watercourses, how trees can help combat these and the funding and support available.
About this event
Whether you’re a farmer or a landowner with a watercourse on your land, you operate within a river catchment, or you’re an agent or adviser supporting those who do, this webinar is for you.
Trees have far-reaching benefits for the land you manage, the environment, and for water. Even planting small woods in the right place can help reduce flooding, lessen the effects of drought, improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, and help keep rivers and aquatic life cool.
In the webinar we’ll discuss
• where you could consider planting woodland on your farm or landholding
• how planting trees can help mitigate flooding, improve water quality and support biodiversity
• share woodland creation examples that support a better water environment
• the incentives and grants available to farmers and landowners, and the potential additional income trees can provide
• the help available from the Forestry Commission and partner organisations including The Environment Agency and The Rivers Trust
With watercourses under increasing pressure now is a great time to see how you could help, so please join us.
The format will be a one-hour presentation, with 30 minutes for your questions at the end.
