Description

Join us for our next Worcestershire Fundraisers Meet-Up!

The session - From Kitchen Tables to a Giraffe Trail; The changing face of fundraising

This session will look at the history of St Richard’s, from its early days to our purpose build hospice on Wildwood Drive. This year marks St Richard’s 35 year and this session will be a look back at how the hospice and its fundraising has changed and developed within this time. Having gone from events organised around supporters kitchen tables to the multi-million pound capital appeal that the team are currently in the middle of; that saw giraffes come to Worcester last summer.

This session is intended to look at how fundraising has changed across the charity sphere not only here in Worcestershire and for all those present but also how varied fundraising events are today, compared to 35 years ago. Us fundraisers are fabulous at sharing ideas and knowledge and if we could all go away with an idea to work on then that would be job done for this session!

Speaker - Claire James

Claire looks after St Richard’s Community Fundraisers; from individuals, to groups and Schools. She works with and goes out into the community talking about the work of the hospice; helping to expand the knowledge and understanding of the community that they serve. Alongside this, Claire also looks after St Richard’s annual Lights of Love Appeal and is also a member of the IoF West Midlands Committee, helping to look after their social media. Claire was a Charity Apprentice with the Child.org in 2017 and is also a young trustee of the Children’s Rights Unit in Neath.

The session will start at 10am in the Community Room, please make sure to sign in at the customer service desk to extend your parking beyond 2 hours.
