Second Speaker: Eleanor Pugh, Relationships Management Officer, Unicef

Navigating legacy retention during the pandemic at Unicef UK

Pre-pandemic, marketing to legacy pledgers at Unicef UK often relied on traditional methods such as face-to-face and direct mail. But then… COVID.

One year on, hear about how the Gifts in Wills Retention team at Unicef UK adapted relationship management techniques to launch:

- Email supporter journeys

- Event-style mailpacks

- Value exchange projects

- Pledger welcome products

About Eleanor (Elli) Pugh

Elli is a Relationship Management Officer in the retention arm of Gifts in Wills and In Memory at Unicef UK.

After starting her charity marketing career at Candlelighters in Leeds in 2016, Elli moved onto the Legacy Marketing team at British Heart Foundation, notably working on their ‘Will Power’ multi-channel acquisition campaign. Since moving to Unicef UK in 2019, she has worked across strategy and delivery for legacy events, direct mail, email marketing, community group management and In Memory marketing.

While passionate about combining marketing project management with the cultivation of individual supporter relationships, Elli is also an enthusiastic proponent of the power of legacies and its ever-growing income potential.

Outside of work life, you’ll find her retreating from London life in her home county of Cumbria, trying to tackle the Couch to 5K programme (shin splints remedies anyone?!) or cheering on her lifelong love, Aston Villa.

5pm - Close

If you would like to speak at a social please email yorkshire@institute-of-fundraising.org.uk. It can be on any charity related topic, maybe a case study, a success, a tried but failed story or something inspirational, just let us know!

See you there!
