A practical guide to the pitfalls of instructing Experts in complex finance

The use of expert evidence, particularly in complex areas like finance, has evolved over the past decade.
Subtle differences exist between expert suppliers, and a bare bones report is not all that is on offer any more.

In a closed forum of up to 10 participants and amongst your professional contemporaries, we will candidly discuss with you some of the largest reported public failures in instructing financial services experts, as well as drawing on our own experience since 2009.

You will gain a real appreciation of the expert's perspective and practical knowledge to equip you for the challenges of instructing experts.

In our express 1 hour talk you will learn about:

i) The evolution of the financial services expert space over the decade;

ii) Common challenges financial services experts face when producing their evidence;

iii) Case studies: a discussion of recent adverse expert issues in banking and measures that could have prevented poor outcomes;

iv) Our views on how to optimize the expert process, and avoid sub-optimal reports.

This is a unique talk from the leading providers of financial services experts in complex banking litigation. It will provide invaluable guidance for legal professionals instructing financial services experts.

Our insights, whilst appropriately anonymised, are based on our direct experience of over eight years providing expert witnesses and their support teams. By attending the talk you will learn how to identify and reduce risks affecting the delivery of an excellent report and its accompanying costs.
