Outline of the Day
The aim of this skills sharing day is to introduce participants to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and to demonstrate how all staff play a role in protecting the Museum’s collections from pest damage.
The skills sharing day is for people working or volunteering within the museum and heritage sector who would like to develop a knowledge and understanding of what an IPM monitoring programme involves, how pest risks can be identified and how to confidently identify the key pests that threaten a Museum’s collections.
Important Note: The training is only available to people already working in museums.

By the end of the day participants will:
What is involved in establishing and operating an IPM monitoring programme.
How pest activity can be inhibited by effective design and procedures.
What treatment options are available.
What the keys pests are and how to identify them.
Travel bursary: There are a number of travel bursaries available for each skills sharing session. If you wish to apply please complete the relevant section on the booking form on registering and email UKPartnerships@britishmuseum.org.
Bursaries are subject to availability and must be requested as soon as possible but no later than 2 weeks before the date of the session.
