Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electronics and Control: This vital combination of enabling technologies relating to Integrated Systems Engineering are absolutely vital to the existence of modern life as we know it due to continual advances in technology, and the need for businesses within the Sheffield City Region to develop whilst remaining competitive.



This Masterclass will be hosted by the National Fluid Power Centre, the world class specialist Centre that supports the knowledge and skills development of the UK workforce in every sector of Industry.


Session Content

During the workshop session you will be given the opportunity to read a hydraulic circuit diagram, select the appropriate components and set up and operate, in a safe and effective manner, a working circuit. After a group lunch there will be an open forum session to discuss the value of such resources in supporting the knowledge and skills development of staff, both present and future and an opportunity to state YOUR NEEDS.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to have a tour of the facilities in Technical Centres 1, 2 and 3 to view the range of services offered, so all attendees will need to bring along clean overalls and safety shoes.

This Masterclass is ideal for Engineering Managers, Safety Engineers, Training Managers, Production Managers and those at a supervisory level involved in the maintenance and management of plant (mobile and industrial) systems. It is open to small and medium sized enterprises.

Who is leading it?

This Masterclass will be led by John R Savage, Director of the National Fluid Power Centre for the last 17 years. He was locally trained, educated and qualified as a Mining Mechanical Engineer, and also has 45 years of experience in the world of Fluid Power, Education and Training. He is currently Chairman of the British Fluid Power Education and Training Committee since 1991 and this year received the Joseph Bramah Medal from the IMechE for 30 years of recognised contribution to education and training in Fluid Power.

We are pleased to be able to provide this masterclass free of charge due to funding from the European Regional Development Fund. There are a number of eligibility criteria for attendees which we will check using the online registration questions and in a phone call to every attendee prior to the event.

No, only one attendee per company is permitted.

Yes, tea and coffee will be available upon arrival, and a group lunch will also be provided.
