WORKSHOP - Thursday 9th October 2025
Integrating Time Awareness Approaches in Coaching Psychology
with Dr Anna Navin Young
Our relationship with time is multifaceted and has widespread impacts on our lives, work, wellbeing, and relationships.
This workshop will introduce participants to the concepts of time awareness and time awareness coaching (TAC). Informed by psychological approaches, the field of time use research, and critical reflective practice, TAC offers an approach to coaching that focuses on fostering reflection and awareness of a client’s daily time habits and larger relationship with time in order to facilitate personally meaningful behavioural and mindset changes.
Time awareness approaches can be particularly supportive for clients navigating periods of personal change (e.g., changing job, relocation, retirement, new parenthood) or larger environmental changes (e.g., accelerated pace of life, periods of social change, advancements in digital technologies, transitions in work-time practices).
The session will introduce participants to relevant literature informing TAC and invite discussion on this approach for participants’ own practices. Participants will also be introduced to and guided through experiential time awareness activities to get firsthand experience of the approaches.
