Description

The Integrative Women's Health Summit is a two day event in London featuring world-leading integrative physicians who specialise in women's medicine

A Welcome Note from our Keynote Speaker, Dr Aviva Romm:

"The current medical system is failing. Simply listening and truly caring for individuals and promoting health, has been replaced by a focus on disease management and over-diagnosis. The Latin roots of ‘physician’ - that being one who teaches the ill how to self-heal – has largely been lost.

Chronic disease is not inevitable, it is preventable and reversible. By combining the pearls of functional nutrition, herbal medicines and ancient practices, we as clinicians and physicians, can help and inspire women to regain their vitality, energy and health. In doing so, we are part of a healthcare revolution, practicing ‘good medicine’ and ‘transformational healing’ by optimizing health through improving diet, nutrition, lifestyle and reducing stress and harmful environmental exposures. This is a paradigm shift that moves away from the over-medicalization of life, from birth to death, into a model that respects the intrinsic healing capacities of the body and nature.

By doing this, we are instrumental in breaking this cycle of chronic disease, fertility problems and, what the pediatrician and environmental scientist, Philip Landrigan calls ‘the new paediatric pathology’, and infectious disease specialist and microbiome expert, Martin Blaser, refers to as ‘the modern plagues’ that we are now commonly and devastatingly, seeing in our children.

It is in looking toward the roots of imbalance, from before conception, and reconnecting with nature, soil, healthy rhythms, and even natural remedies for health and healing, that we can help women to flourish, return our children to health, and in doing so, safeguard their future and our own."
Dr Aviva Romm, Mother, Midwife, Herbalist & Physician

"Dr Burdette is a dynamic and passionate integrative practitioner and that zeal spills over into how she teaches other practitioners the fundamentals of functional/integrative medicine.  She is a biochemistry whiz. She explains it in such a way that you can apply it to your practice with ease. I have worked alongside Dr Burdette for over a decade and she is my go to physician on all my tough cases. She is absolutely brilliant." Dr Gez Agolli, MD., DrPH., ND
