Event description

Description

Join us at this lunchtime seminar held by IP experts from Carpmaels and Ransford to find out more about the importance of intellectual property in developing and building the commercial value of your business.

What is intellectual property?

Your intellectual property is what defines your business, whether it be the app you develop, the program you write or the logo you brand your business with.

More importantly, your IP is an asset. It is what sets you apart. It provides you with a commercial tool to attract investment, fend off competitors and ensure that you are able to focus on developing your ideas.

Intellectual property for startups

Join us at this lunchtime seminar with IP experts Paul Bettridge and Philip Naylor from Carpmaels and Ransford. Carpmaels and Ransford undertake specialist work included advising on the patentability of identified inventions, drafting patent specifications, advising on the filing and prosecution strategy and leading the foreign prosecution.

They have worked closely with businesses like SwiftKey, from its first patent application to its acquisition by Microsoft, to build and prosecute its intellectual property (IP) portfolio. Swiftkey (incorporated as TouchType Limited) is widely regarded as one of London’s most successful startups, and is the master of a predictive keyboard powered by AI.
