About this event

Intellectual Property (IP) ranges from logos and corporate identity to products, services and processes. IP consists of four main areas: copyright, trademarks, patents and registered designs. Knowing your IP rights can help protect your business ideas, creativity and new products from imitators.

If you have a business idea and are not sure if there are any IP aspects you should be considering or if you have a query about copyright, trademarks, patents and registered designs, IPO trained staff from the hive's partner – Business and Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC) Bristol can discuss with you the steps you can take to protect your IP. They can give you an overview of IP in the UK, provide you with information on how to apply for rights and help you with basic searches.

These sessions are delivered online by staff from BIPC Bristol, who offer confidential one-to-one sessions on a range of IP topics to support you with your business planning. They are not IP attorneys and therefore cannot give you legal advice. If after this initial conversation you would like to speak with an IP attorney, this can be arranged through a range of partner IP attorneys who offer free help.
