Description

What can we say.... another election upset catches the pollsters and pundits off guard! June wasn't quite the end of May but the election has dealt a huge blow to the Prime Minister as a resurgent Labour Party took out the Conservative majority.

For now, Theresa May remains the leader of the largest party in Westminster but with her majority resting on a controversial alliance with the DUP the future looks anything but strong or stable....

Could another election to break the deadlock be around the corner?

How will the result affect the looming EU negotiations?

Has high youth turnout changed the political terrain?

What does this mean for the Lib Dems, UKIP and the Greens?

Speakers on the night

Cllr Sean Anstee - Leader of Trafford Council, Cllr for Bowdon and Conservative candidate for Greater Manchester Mayor

Claire Fox - Director of the Institute of Ideas, regular panelist on BBC Radio 4's Moral Maze.

Cllr Kev Peel - Labour Cllr for City Centre Ward

Thomas Barlow - Co-Founder of Real Media and Co-Founder of The Media Fund. He is a sometime political commentator and permanent advocate of independent media.

Join Interact MCR for a evening of debate, discussion and speculation at Texture on 10th August 2017 as we unpack the political fallout from this dramatic election!
