IINTERACTIVE TALK – MORE THAN A SOLO
Join us for a special interactive talk on Saturday, 26 October at 17:30 at A Mini Bar in Hackney, where More than a Solo comes alive through discussion, insight, and creative exchange.
Shahina Jaffer — multidisciplinary artist, TEDx speaker, author, and podcaster — will guide attendees through her artistic process, showing how her work functions as an “art machine”: a living system where ideas, materials, and collaborations continuously evolve.
Drawing from her British, Indian, African, and Persian heritage, Shahina creates layered, socially engaged works that explore identity, justice, and our relationship to the natural world. Signature techniques such as The Reverse Jackson, Jaffer vs. Mondrian, and The Line of Invisibility are central to her process, investigating perception, visibility, and the subtle forces shaping human experience.
This interactive session will cover:
- How collections and individual works interact as part of a creative ecosystem
- The techniques and processes behind key pieces, including her explorations of the natural world and human perception
- Insights into socially engaged art, collaborations, and evolving exhibitions
The talk is immersive and participatory, with a panel of fellow artists to spark conversation and audience engagement.
