Event description

Description

The Interconnect Student Network Conference & Awards 2017 will bring together women studying STEM to celebrate their passion for their subject, connect with inspiring women professionals and enhance their career development.

Our keynote speaker this year is Dr Susie Mitchell, Programme Director of Glasgow City of Science, who has a 17 year career spanning lab research, research and development commercialisation, health improvement policy and equality work.

The conference will include interactive workshops on topics such as public speaking, seeking out development opportunities, making the most of work experience and using social media to kick-start your career. The full programme is here.

This event will give students the opportunity to network with women STEM professionals and employers over lunch to find out about placement and graduate roles as well as learn about what it’s like to work in these sectors.

The winner of our Interconnect Student Award will also be announced at this conference. This award celebrates women students who have gone above and beyond to support, mentor or promote women in STEM. To find out more about this award and how to nominate someone CLICK HERE.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get involved in the Interconnect Student Network and develop your skills for a successful career in STEM.

This event is open to all women studying STEM and the built environment at colleges and universities in Scotland.

Students travelling out with Edinburgh will have their VAT receipted travel expenses reimbursed up to a max of £15 per person. Travel expenses claim forms will be issued to students on the day of the event.
