Event description
A webinar to explore practical examples of change from congregations seeking to become more intergenerational
About this Event
This webinar will be exploring practical examples of change from congregations seeking to become more intergenerational, throughout the life of the church. We will explore 4 movements of change: age-segregated to intergenerational; educational to experiential; one-directional (adult-to-child) relationships to mutual place-sharing; relationships used for influence to relationships as revelatory. There will be opportunity for discussion, sharing stories and ideas as we seek to contextualise this thinking into our own contexts.
This follows the successful webinar held in December 2020, where Darren Philip, the Youth and Children's Development Worker at Livingston United Church, helped us to consider the theory and theology of developing an intergenerational church, exploring four key ‘movements’ to develop and grow as a church that includes and welcomes everyone. (The videos of these talks can be found here.) You are welcome to this second webinar on this topic, whether or not you attended the previous webinar.
"This is a fulcrum moment for the church - we can either pivot back to what we were once before and continue a cycle of decline, or we can take what we have learnt during lockdown and return to our ancient ways of being together, all ages with and for one another." (D Philip)
This online webinar is aimed at anyone involved in leadership in congregations; those in the recognised ministries, elders, children/youth ministry volunteers and paid workers.
