Intergenerational Church

Join us to reflect on what it is to be church, explore our aspirations for being intergenerational, and consider ways of contextualising these into local practice.

This online webinar is aimed at anyone involved in leadership in congregations; those in the recognised ministries, elders, children/youth ministry volunteers and paid workers.

We will hear from Darren Philip, the Youth and Children's Development Worker at Livingston United Church. Darren was recently awarded the John Hope Prize in Practical Theology for his dissertation "Children in an Intergenerational Church Community – Lessons for the Church of Scotland from the works of Dietrich Bonhoeffer."

Darren will lead us through four principal questions:

• Where are we and how did we get here?
• What could being an intergenerational church community look like?
• How do we get there?
• What does it mean for our different local contexts?

There will be times for discussion and wrestling over these ideas together, seeking to contextualise the thinking into our own contexts through the sharing of stories and ideas. We will explore how we can become more life giving and faith shaping for everyone in our communities.
