This is a blended learning course that requires you to complete the theory aspects of the training online prior to attending the face to face course to complete the practical elements.
Learning hours:
- Pre-course online theory work: 8-10 hours
- Completion of pre-course assessment: 4-6 hours
- Face-to-face course duration: 2 days, 9am-5pm
Pre-Requisites: The Spin City Beginners Aerial Hoop Instructor Course or an equivalent certification. Minimum of two years Aerial Hoop Experience.
Pre-Course Online Theory: You will be required to complete the theory section of this course on our online learning platform prior to attending your face to face course date. The theory will cover a summary of key topics from the beginners course, progressive teaching and coaching, an introduction to teaching dynamic movements and a module on health and safety.
Face to Face Training: At your face to face course, your tutor will cover all of the moves in our Intermediate Hoop Syllabus. You will be taught how to break down each move, then teach it effectively including regressions, progressions, modifications and spotting technique. We will also cover how you can combine these moves into combinations and sequences to challenge your students and how you can use equipment specific strength and conditioning to help them progress.
Assessment: This course is assessed in two stages; stage 1 will be your 'theory' assessment, stage 2 will be your 'practical' assessment. Stage 1; when completing your online theory work you will be asked to complete a series of multiple choice questions. Stage 2; at your face to face course you will be asked to teach and spot three moves from your course to your fellow course attendees and demonstrate a combination of moves. You will also be asked to demonstrate the 'core' moves from each unit. This is approximately 8-10 moves.
