Intermediate Clicker Workshop with Alasdair Bunyan
Sat 20 February 2016, 10:00 – 16:00 GMT
Do you want to learn something new?
Do you want to build on existing skills?
Do you want to have fun with your dog?
Clicker training is reward based method of training which describes the process of pinpointing appropriate behaviour with the use of a small mechanical device that makes a short, distinct "click" sound. This clear form of communication is an effective and humane way to train your dog and builds trust and understanding between the dog and their guardian.
This workshop will be a mixture of both theoretical and practical training and will provide those attending a clear foundation on which to build their future training.
Alasdair is a Senior Training & Behaviour Advisor for Dogs Trust. He has been training dogs since the early 80's and has competed at the highest level in Working Trials with several dogs. Al was part of the steering group that was instrumental in the setting up of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and has continued to be passionate advocate of positive reward based training methods.
Alasdair travels all over the UK supporting Dogs Trust staff as well as providing training courses to the general public on training and behaviour. He has recently returned from Bosnia and Romania where he provided clicker training and dog behaviour courses to local dog rescues and local dog catching teams.
