Intermediate Sewing: Shirt making (2 Days)

About this Event
In this workshop you can work with any shirt pattern you choose. You will need to purchase this beforehand. Please contact the studio with the pattern brand and number, so we can advise.
If you would like to view various patterns that are available, please take a look on the SewDirect website. If you would like us to order them for you, please contact the studio. We will need to have 10 days notice before your booking date, for the pattern to arrive on time.
During the workshop we will work on techniques in the follwing areas:
1. Sizing and measurements
2. Reading a pattern
3. Cutting out a garment
4. Pockets
5. Yokes and the buritto method
6. Shirt collars
7. Button stands
8. Button holes and buttons
9. Sleeves
10. Plackets and cuffs
This workshop is for suitbale for men's, womens and childrenswear.
If this is the first shirt you are making, it is advisable to stick with cotton shirting type fabrics. Nothing too thick or thin, and silky.
Dates:
This is a 2 day workshop:
Group A: 14th + 15th April (10am - 5pm)
Group B: 30th + 31st May (10am - 5pm)
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
All your fabrics, buttons, pattern and other haberdashery. Please bring these to your first session.
DO I NEED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION BEFORE I ATTEND?
If you would like help with your pattern and fabrics, please provide the pattern number so we can advise.
If you would like us to order you a pattern, please provide the pattern brand and number. We only order styles from the Sew Direct website.
