All current student midwives in training at UWS are invited to attend The International Day of the Midwife on Friday 5th May. This event will be a celebration of midwifery. It will be hosted by Dr Mary Ross-Davie the Director of the Royal College of Midwives, who will lead the celebrations. Other attendees include Ann Holmes, Chief Midwifery Advisor & Associate Chief Nursing Officer and Erica Clarkson and Claire Jamieson who will run a workshop on Scotland’s baby boxes.
Why not submit an entry into the cake decorating competition, for the non bakers you could knit or crochet a midwife. Inspired by the campaign led by @knitted midwife (aka Jenny Hall and Lindsay Hobbs) we shall be seeking donations of knitted or crochet midwives to be sold off to raise funds for our nominated charity.
UWS are grateful to Amy Kember for permission to link to her blog, where you can access a pattern for a crochet midwife, here is the link:-
