International Longevity Policy and Governance Summit
Living longer, healthier and productively for global prosperity
Longevity International UK is proud to be launching the world’s first international, cross-border, cross-sector summit on International Longevity Policy and Governance as part of Longevity Forum’s Longevity Week 2019, bringing together world-leading policy experts, representatives of government bodies, departments, healthcare and finance ministries, executives of healthcare and financial corporations to discuss, network and collaborate on initiatives to promote international longevity development.
This half-day conference will look at the international response to harnessing the opportunities of an ageing demographic, and what lessons can be learned and shared across countries from a policy perspective – taking a whole society, cross sector, pan-government approach. There is a great diversity of responses by nations and regions to the global demographic shift. Longevity development efforts being executed by different government bodies in different countries will be the focus. Key lessons learned from Japan, Singapore, the Nordics, USA and UK will be discussed. We are also expecting high-profile representatives of the embassies of the top-5 longevity-progressive countries to be in attendance.
The opportunities for key industries will be discussed: wellness & health, housing, education, transport, food, pensions, entertainment and telecoms. Re-imagining home, towns, mobility and connectivity are all key themes. The role of business and a new ‘social contract’ with society will be explored. Members from the All Party Parliamentary Group for Longevity will be invited to present key findings from the consultation underway for the National Strategy for five extra years of healthy life expectancy by 2035 while closing the social gap.
