International Nurses Day 2017- Nurses Making a Difference
Fri 12 May 2017, 09:00 – 16:30 BST
You are invited to take part in an event celebrating International Nurses Day 2017. The event held at Sheffield Hallam University will be focused on how nurses make a difference, locally, nationally and internationally.
During the morning you will have the opportunity to engage with presentations that set the scene on how nurses make a difference to patients' lives. We have speakers including Matt King OBE talking about how a nurse made a difference to his recovery following a life changing accident; Professor Laura Serrant talking about how nurses can make a difference through leadership and Professor Davina Porock talking about how nurses can make a difference through engaging with research.
In the afternoon a series of workshops will provide you with the opportunity to explore different aspects of how nurses can make a difference to the lives of patients, locally, nationally and internationally. A variety of workshops will be delivered and include how nursing students from SHU have made a difference through the implementation of service improvements, overseas nursing students experiences of making a difference-giving a global perspective of healthcare, and also service users perspectives on the difference that nurses make.
