Event description

Description

The International Photoacoustic Standardization Consortium (IPASC) is organising a one-day meeting to review the current status of standardisation in photoacoustic imaging (PAI) and discuss future plans for the consortium to move standardisation forward.

The overall goal of IPASC is to reach consensus on photoacoustic imaging (PAI) standardisation to improve the quality of preclinical studies and to accelerate efforts in clinical translation. Furthermore, by establishing standards IPASC hopes to facilitate open access, use, and exchange of data between different groups.

The meeting will take place at the National Physical Laboratory on the 4th of November 2019 and will be free to attend. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, so registration is required.

The meeting will run from 9.00 to 18.00 and there will be the opportunity to attend a networking reception after the meeting from 18.00 to 19.00.

The meeting programme will:

1. Inform on the IPASC consortium aims and recent efforts within the themes of study design, phantom development and data management;

2. Introduce the experience of other similar communities in standardisation efforts, including ultrasound and optical imaging;

3. Facilitate discussion and consensus finding on key topics in relation to PAI biomarker validation, including basic terms and definitions as well as plans for multi-centre studies within the consortium;

4. Provide a networking platform, including an e-poster session, to facilitate further collaboration.

IPASC is currently represented globally in over 14 countries with more than 90 academic and industrial members. For more information about IPASC please visit https://www.ipasc.science/ipasc.science/

Please register by Friday 18th October 2019.
