Description

A journey from Dash to Diganta, a haunting depiction of the plight and progress of South Asian women in UK through discussion, live music and poetry.


The event features intellectual talks on the theme of 2018 Press for Progress as well as on the plight and progress of South Asian Women in UK, live music by well-known South Asian female singers and poetry on women issues by number of highly acclaimed poets from diver

The performers include Nandita Mukherjee, Laboni Barua, Nabarupa Mukherjee, Anuja Pradhan, Yousuf Ali Khan and Sunil Jadhav in live music; Sayoni Batabyal in Dance; Dr Anwara Ali MBE, Shamshia Ali, Shanjida Roman, Piya Mayenin, Ajanta Deb Roy and Sejuti Mansur in Talk; Marcia Martins Da Rosa, Giulia Vitiello, Afasana Salam and anjina Nur-I Siddique in poetry performance.

The event has been organised by Nari Chetona in partnership with Poplar Union and Humane First Movement. Nari Chetona is a women's right platform working in East London since 1995.
