International Women's Day 2020

Brent Council is celebrating International Women’s Day on Tuesday 10 March 2020 from 10am to 2.30pm in the Grand Hall (Level 1) at Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, HA9 0FJ.

The theme for this year is ‘each for equal’. 

Gender equality affects us all. Join our celebration and make International Women’s Day your day! Our free event will include:

• Inspirational speakers

• Panel discussion with local women

• Information stalls

• Entertainment

Everyone is welcome – all genders, all ages, and all communities together. 

The event will start at 10.30am. Light refreshments will be provided around 1.30pm.

Is the event free?


Who is this event for?

Everyone - all ages, genders and communities are welcome.

What time do I need to arrive?
The event will start at 10.30am with registration and networking from 10.00am.

When you arrive at Brent Civic Centre, please use the stairs, escalator or red/glass lifts to the first floor. There will be signage and volunteers available.

Are there facilities for those with disabilities available?

The Grand Hall on Level 1 is wheelchair accessible.

Brent Civic Centre has toilet facilities outside of the Grand Hall, and a Changing Places toilet on the Ground Floor.

There will be signage on the day and volunteers available to provide assistance.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Paid-for parking is available at Wembley red and yellow car parks for £1 / hour (for 0-6 hours)

Public transport options are below:

Bus and tube:- The 8348392182 and 206 buses all stop near the building, the nearest station is Wembley Park (Metropolitan and Jubilee lines). View the local bus route map pdf and live local travel updates.

Cycle:- Bicycle racks are provided adjacent to the building in the Paul Daisley garden area, you will need to provide your own lock(s) and carry with you to the training any panier/helmet/lights, etc.

Motorcycles and Scooters:- These can be parked free of charge in the basement car park, accessed via a ramp adjacent to the building.

There is Blue Badge parking and cycle spaces at the centre, but only a limited number of paid-for parking spaces. Go to the Brent Civic Centre car park page for more information. 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. You can bring your ticket on your phone / other smart device.

We will also have a list of everyone who has got a ticket that we can check on the day, so don't worry if you forget your ticket. 

Will refreshments be provided? 

Yes, a light lunch will be provided at the event for those who have registered to attend. 

If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know when booking your ticket. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available.
