About this event

An invitation to celebrate International Women's Day: 8 March 2021

This year we're taking our celebrations online!

Join colleagues from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) and Essex Police on Microsoft Teams on 8 March 2021.

International Women's Day is an opportunity to think about the progress made in relation to human rights and gender equality and this year the theme is ‘Choose To Challenge’.

We have some great speakers lined up for you:

Speaker Session

Jo Turton, ECFRS Imposter Syndrome

Colette Black, ECFRS Culture

Zoe Billingham, HMICFRS Career Development

Gita Prasad, EEAST Choose To Challenge “My Story”

Antarctic Fire Angels Inspirational

Laughology Workshop

Gary Webb, Essex Police Wellbeing

AF Communications Impact and Gravitas for Women

Dan Evison, ECFRS Wellbeing

Dawn Wood, Essex Police Inspirational

To register, please book your ticket on Eventbrite and you'll be sent a link to the Microsoft Teams meeting ahead of the event.

This year, we will be supporting Antarctic Fire Angels (AFA) and raising funds in association with Ordinary Extraordinary C.I.C.

All donations will be split equally between The Fire Fighters Charity and The Harlequins Foundation.

To show our support, we will be organising a “Choose To Challenge Yourself” Sports Challenge hoping to cover 1900km, the distance set by AFA to ski coast-to-coast across Antarctica.

You can read more about AFA’s expedition here. Further details on the Sports Challenge to follow.
